Sustainability in Bio-Based Cactus Materials
Sonora’s materials are cactus derived bio-based vegan leather created on a ranch in Zacatecas, Mexico. Nopal Cacti have elephant ear-shaped cactus pads that can be cut singly and harvested every 6-8 months, without killing the plant. The material are then broken down, dried and pressed with organic bio-resin dyes. The material has a high tensile strength and is highly abrasive resistant compared to animal leathers. The material is naturally soft and highly durable and guaranteed to last a long time with proper care. Bio-base plant materials like cactus are very sustainable because they require low amounts of water and no fertilizer to thrive.

I got the amber color and absolutely loved it. The overall look is very fashionable and goes with pretty much anything. It has a very light weight feel and has a rly nice shape firmness. The cactus leather looks and feels exceptionally premium in person. The shoulder strap is very soft and comfortable, which is rly nice for long travel days. I also really like how the shoulder strap is easily removable it makes the bag even more versatile. It would be cool to see a logo somewhere on the bag to show off :)

This is my first cactus leather product so I didn’t know what to expect but wow it blew me away. I’ve been vegetarian for years now and love that these sustainable businesses are making a change in the leather industry. Keep it up!
My bag came in the mail quickly after 5 days and was well packaged with a nice thank you card! I was so impressed with the material, I could not believe it was plant based, it feels so soft, broken-in, and scratch resistant! The zippers and handles were high quality YKK and reinforced. The pouches were lined with quality fabric and the bag could easily hold 4 days worth of clothes for my weekend trip. Excellent bag!
